Our Amazing Friends, Please Say a Prayer for Them.

I have spent a lot of time the last few days thinking about what I have been wanting to post. We have an amazing friend who has been fighting a brain tumor for a couple of years. He has been so strong and has such strong unfaltering faith in Jesus. When we have talked with him about his condition in the past, he would tell us that God would not give him anything that he could not handle. I also remember Shea telling us a long time ago that Brian said that he was not afraid. He was ready to go to be with God whenever he was ready for him. This past Friday, Brian was moved to BSA Hospice. He suffered some major setbacks and his wife and family made the decision that it was time to let him rest comfortably in a peaceful environment where they could manage his pain. Jose has been to sit with him almost every single day. Sometimes it would be for an hour and sometimes for 5 or 6 hours. We have spent a lot of time with Brian and Shea’s families the past few weeks and I cannot tell you how amazing they all are. I sit and watch them with him and each other. There is so much compassion for Brian and this family. Friends and family have come from all over to show their support and love.

This experience in our lives is one that really makes you think about how important your priorities are. Going and sitting with a family in a time of suffering can mean so much. It can make an impact that you may not consciously think about. There is never anything that you can really say to someone experiencing what Brian, Shea, and their families are going through, but just being there can mean the world!!!

I am in awe of the strength that Shea has had to be so positive and caring with Brian. She sits with him always and scratches his nose or head for him, she offers him ice, ice cream, tea with raw sugar, anything she can to make him more comfortable. She is the most unselfish individual that I have had the pleasure to know in a long time. Her actions speak such loud volumes that no words are even necessary to know how much she loves this man.

Shea and Brian, I want you to know how much we absolutely undoubtedly love you both. We think about you always and say prayers for you everyday. Brian, we are so so happy that you chose Shea to be your true love!!!! She is the most amazing girl and she loves you so much. She is an amazing individual and her faith in Jesus is unfaltering. Your forever together is not coming to an end, it is just beginning, and know that you will get to dance together in heaven again, when God says it is time.

To all of my friends and family, please pray for this couple and their family. They are going through such a hard time and need all of the prayer, love and support that they can receive. Also, take a little time each day and really spend some quality time with your family. Tell those that you love that you do indeed love them. Hug them. Kiss them. Appreciate them for who they are and that they are with you!!! God gives us all challenges and they may not always make since at first but there is a divine purpose behind all that HE does.
